This body of work by Nyamai is a continued exploration of the intertwining of history and identity and how this has informed the identities of people living in present-day, post-colonial Kenya. Using multi-media, he layers each piece with rich textures that reveal figures and abstract forms serving as an antidote to the singular narrative of history usually taught as the definitive account of Kenya and its people.
