Art Africa Interviews Kimathi Mafafo on Investec Cape Town Art Fair Solo Booth

The Investec Cape Town Art Fair has launched a new section titled 'SOLO' which aims to present a curated selection of solo presentations. For its inaugural iteration, this section has been dedicated exclusively to women artists.

The edition, curated by Nontobeko Ntombela, sought to comprehensively explore the artistic practices of both emerging and established artists, locally and internationally, with a specific focus on women.

This approach aimed to provide diverse perspectives on the prevalent socio-political challenges faced by women while underscoring their substantial contributions to the art world.

ART AFRICA conducted interviews with these artists to gain insights into their artistic processes and the conceptual narratives underlying their work.

Kimathi Mafafo is featured as a presenting artist.
