Alistair Blair, a South African ceramic artist based in Kalk Bay, Cape Town, found his passion for ceramics through Katherine Glenday's studio in 2014. Under Glenday's mentorship, Blair honed his skills in porcelain.
Blair's artistic talents extend to cinematography and photography, alongside his ceramic work, showcasing a diverse range of skills. His pieces are featured in galleries such as Thrown Contemporary in London and the Kim Sacks Gallery in Johannesburg.
Rooted in his background as an oceanographer, Blair's creations bear the imprint of the sea, capturing its fluidity and depth. Inspired by Taoist and wabi-sabi philosophies, his artworks reflect a quest for existential understanding, exploring life's complexities with grace and humility.
